Our Apple Orchard: A Growing Dream
At Gigi’s Farm & Orchard, we’re growing more than just apples—we’re cultivating a place where families and friends can gather, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the simple pleasure of picking fresh fruit straight from the tree.
From Graft to Orchard
Our apple trees didn’t start as saplings from a nursery. We grafted them ourselves, carefully selecting 31 unique varieties to create a diverse, flavorful orchard.

- In 2023, we grafted 172 trees,
- followed by 244 in 2024 and
- 101 more in 2025. It’s been a labor of love, but the result will be an orchard filled with apples perfect for fresh eating, baking, cider-making, and more.
Choosing the Right Roots
We use two types of rootstock to ensure our trees thrive:
🍏 Dwarf Rootstock – Keeps trees small and easy to pick from while producing high-quality fruit.
🍎 Semi-Dwarf Rootstock – Offers a balance of size and hardiness, great for our Wisconsin climate.
These choices allow us to grow strong, productive trees that will provide delicious apples for years to come.
The Future of U-Pick Apples
While our orchard is still young, we’re excited for the day when we can invite you to wander through the rows, fill your basket with crisp apples, and experience the joy of picking your own fruit. Until then, we’ll be nurturing our trees, sharing updates, and maybe even taste-testing a few apples along the way (strictly for research purposes, of course 😉).
